Lot 389: Good Georgian S.Simpson Preston, Halifax Moon 8 Day Longcase Clock. Circa 1820. The 14 in. square dial painted with The Prince of Wales Feathers to the corners and a central Halifax moon mounted to the 8 day movement with a Walker & Hughes false plate. The beautiful flame mahogany case with inlays to the hood over a long shaped door flanked by reeded pillars all standing on ogee bracket feet. Height 89 inches. Working order with key. Lot 390: A Fine Quality London 8-day Pagoda Top Longcase Clock. Having a 12" arch Brass Dial. Early 19thc. The superb case is typical of the best London clockmakers work and is superbly proportioned having it's original large spire ball finials to the hood. The 8-day movement has an anchor escapement and the dial has a strike/silent dial in the arch. The dial centre has a sunk seconds dial and the inner edge of the chapter ring is engraved for a centre date. The lower dial centre has a cartouche inscribed "Josiah Winton, London". He is listed as working in the early 19th century. The clock has it's two original weights and Brass-faced pendulum bob. The clock is in going order. Height 94 Inches. Estimate £1000.00 - £1500.00
Lot 391: 19th century Chinese Embroidered Silk/Gold Thread Screen with a pagoda between mountains above a man in a tree watching women working. In a pierced and carved double sided hardwood frame having a central lotus blossom flanked by cranes and further cranes to the base. All supported on scroll supports. Carved wood in good condition, good patination and finish with one piece missing near foot. Silk panel worked in silk and gold thread.
